Beauty: SS-Sugar Scrubs

8:51 PM Prueba 0 Comments

Summer is upon us, altough this clouds don't let us tan... Still, who doesn't love a relaxing afternoon home spa on a gloomy day? So, today I'd like to share some sugar scrub recipes which are not only simple, but affordable and quick!
Exfoliating your skin is imperative for cell regeneration and the corret stimulation of follicles. Reason why you need to keep one of these in your shower and give your body a good scrub before shaving! Your skin will be soooo soft, and you will relax!
These are a couple floral spring inspired body scrubs that I found on the web and am dying to make ...
Lavender Vanilla Scrub:
Calming and fresh, appropriate for all ages. Grapeseed Oil is great for aging skin, because it helps reduce fine lines while also tightening.
You need:
2 Cups Cane Sugar
3/4 Cup Grapeseed Oil
1/4 Cup Coconut Oil, refined (use unrefined coconut oil if you want it to have a coconut fragrance)
1 Dropper of Lavender Essential Oil
1/2 Dropper of Vanilla Essential Oil
2 Tablespoons Dried Lavender Buds
Mix everything together!  Seal in an airtight container!
Rose Anise Sugar Scrub
This sugar scrub has a unique twist with the addition of Anise Star which adds a licorice-like scent and an earthy note in combination with rose. Adding the dried rose petals makes it only look really pretty and organic!  Almond Oil has emollient properties that allow it to be easily absorbed into the skin.  It helps restore its normal PH and allows to retain moisture.
You need:
2 Cups Cane Sugar
3/4 Cup Sweet Almond Oil
1/4 Cup Coconut Oil, refined (use unrefined coconut oil if you want it to have a coconut fragrance)
1 Dropper full of Rose Essential Oil
2 Tablespoons Dried Rose Petals
Mix everything together!  Seal in an airtight container!

Sugar Scrubs make the best home made gifts for girls or goodies at a sleepover! Store them in a mason jar to give them that charming allure!
Have a luxurious relaxing bath and enjoy!

Beauty: On hair removal

12:00 AM Prueba 1 Comments

Sun sets earlier, flowers bloom and skirts grow shorter and shorter as the massive heat wave prepares to strike. That means society is expecting us girls to get rid of our natural protection and cancel our no-shave plan until next December. This is why I have decided to dedicate a complete post on the perks and dissadvantages of the many ways of hair removal so we can look for the best option and rock the sleek amazonic body we desire!
First of all this means we need to make an appointment at the salon ... 'cause DIYing it might not be the best option.
Remember the day I told you you were gonna laugh about this post...? Well...
As obsessive as I am, I saw a little hair over my lip. The thing was microscopic, only seen with my maximizing mirror under a lamp. I asked one of my friends and my mum and they couldn't even see the damn thing. Eitherway I wasn't up to any future comments if the horrid thing decided to grow, so I went to the supermarket and bought a package of cold wax strips.
The idea is to warm them up by rubbing them between your hand, then place it where ever you need it and remove the hair. I did it 5 times and the slippery thing wouldn't go away. So I thought it was something about me not heating the thing enough... and I got the BRILLIANT (idiotic)idea to  plug my blow dryer, heat the thing and repeat the procedure.
Needless to say, although it was slightly warmer, it did not work.
The hair was still there and I had to
remove it with tweezers.
But the next day I woke with a burning
first-degree burn on the left side of my lip.
It appears that the wax couldn't handle a miserable hair, but ripped the dermis off the place.

And there I was wandering around with half a red moustache and mistrust to home waxing and those hidious strips.
So my first recommendation would be that you make an appointment with an expert.
Then you'll have 5 options to choose from:
Tweezers, wax, thread and laser.. adding the massive used razor & depilatory creams which, while are
good for use at home are not a long term solution. Its effects don't last long if we talk about creams, and in case of razor, it stimulates folicules and makes hair return a lot thicker, which makes it difficult to remove.
Use it only before laser and only if you are allergic or don't have the time to use creams.
Laser is great, it removes hair for longer each session and makes them thin and almost null.
The downside can be the price, but long term, it's really the best procedure. Of course we must be cautious and not take medications or consult a doctor to know if we are fit for it, as some substances react with photons. It's perfect for any age from 16 when the hormonal system is regulating.
If the price is still a dissadvantage, then waxing is great. (hurts the same hehehe) Most of them are made with aloe vera and bee wax that moisturizes leaving your skin soft. Both of this options apply to practically every part of your body.
Tweezers and thread are specifically for the face.
The first one takes longer and in my opinion perfect for eyerbrows if you know exactl how it is done, still I love threat.
It doesn't only frame your features, but uses them as reference. So it's not someone shaping your eyebrows to a certain design, but to the one you need, using your cheekbones, nose and eyes as reference. A part of shaping, thread "prunes" them as well so everything is in place.
To conclude, always remember to scrub after any waxing procedure to avoid buried hair that causes stinging.
Hope you liked this post!
Let me know if what you think ...

Beauty Must Haves SS14-15

12:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Spring Summer has always been about bright colors, but every season the proposals turn bolder and edgier, which makes clear that fear to it is not an option.
There's no place to say that we don't match to every color, when as Françoise Nars would say, it is only a matter of finding the right tone.
Here the season must haves...
Timanfaya Satin Lip Pencil - NARS
Rouge Pur Couture Pour Color Lipstick - YSL
Vegas Volt Lipstick - MAC
Rouge D'armani Sheer Lipstick - Giorgio Armani
Pimpante Rouge Allure Lipstick - Chanel
Chubby Stick - Clinique
Who thought the classic RED was going to be left aside by one of it's cousins?
Pink would had been a more logical option, but runways all around the world were flooded with the color of the sun.  I though it was a color very difficult to combine, but truth is that it matches with every skin color. The trick is to find a good shade or blur a very bright one into a natural accent.

Parad'Eyes Fluid Eyeliner - Givenchy
Fusion Mono Longwear PRofessional Mirror-Shine Eyeshadow - Dior
5-pack EyeShadow - H&M
Beauty Ice Queen EyeShadow Quad - Tom Ford
Smudge Pot Liner - Stila
Ink Liner - Bobbi Brown
Makeup Intense Liquid Liner Earthy Brown - D&G
Magic Khol Eyeliner Pencil - Givenchy
Noir Couture 4 in 1 Waterproof Mascara - Givenchy
Mega Effects - AVON
Sweet orange kisses for the day and dark smudged eyes until dawn.
The inspiration from the Arabian Nights Karl Lagerfeld used for Chanel Cruise 2015 was what every sophisticated woman needed to get on the wild side. The classic
delineated black smokey eye got rid of all edges to become something more uncontrolled and rebellious.

Lip Glace - Laura Mercier
Sloaney Sweetie - Ciate
Sweet Pea - Ciate
Cascade Cool - Essie
Find Me an Oasis - Essie
Bangle Jangle - Essie
Duo EyeShadow Compact Bouthan - NARS
Dolce - D&G
Wink Colour Mascara - Butter London
Honeysuckle - EOS
Pearl' Glass - MAC
Le Prisme Yeux Quat EyeShadow 73: Pastel - Givenchy
Garden Party Eyeshadow - Dior
Returning to a more cute style, pastels portrayed in every single garnment last SS season move to makeup to contrast with other heavy shades and in hand with retro silhouettes.
Don't hesitate to explore and be edgy!

Duo Eyeshadow Compact Exotic Dance - NARS
Larger Than Life Eyeliner - NARS
Makeup Cayon - D&G
Waterproof Smudge Stick - Stila
China Doll Gel Eyeliner - Napoleón Perdis (Bergdorf Goodman)
In yuxtaposition to smudge, minimalistic white caught our eye to become the favourite statement of the season!

Violet Sky - Laura Mercier
Duo - NARS
Indigo Punk - Butter London
Eyes to Kill Quad - Giorgio Armani
Khol Long Last Eye Pencil - Clarins
Color Design Sensational - Lancôme
Between pastels and darkness, Lavender has found it's way to become something every woman should own. Clear shades for the day and a little darker accents for the night makes it the most chameleonic and perfect shade of all.

Remeber...
NEVER to be afraid when it comes to COLOR... Explore!

Dress Codes 1-0-1

12:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

Prom season is just around the corner, and by the time invitations arrive everbody is already wondering what to wear and what the dress code means. Apart from this season it is EXTREMELY important to understand it, let's say you’re invited to a gala, cocktail or a fundraiser… and the dress code is spelled right out for you . How do you actually translate it into something you can put on your body?
Dress codes can be difficult to deceiver at times that lead you to ask unecessary akward questions which can lead to a wrong answear as most people have the same doubt as you.
That got me thinking that to star my posts about prom... I need to start with the basics.
So this is it. Below you'll find a infographic I found online (via mannixmarketing) with the most common dress codes, what they mean and a few ideas on what to wear for men and woman....!
Ready?
Prepare to be the best dressed person in 3..2..1..
The only thing I would add... Is that perfume and a little mascara should be mandatory!
Boys... we like when you smell good... so the first one applies for you too!
Between Semi-formal and black tie I would say there is Cocktail. A Little bit more reveiling dress with sequins or striking details and black or velvet suits for men.
The last important dress code would be White tie as well. La creme de la creme.
It is the most formal evening dress code,  worn to ceremonial occasions such as state dinners in some countries, as well as to very formal balls and evening weddings. The chief components for men are the black evening tailcoat,
white bow tie, waistcoat and wing collar shirt.
Women wear a suitable dress for the occasion, such as a ball gown.
The equivalent formal attire for daytime events is called morning dress and let's you wear a nice pamela hat and luxurious jewelry.
Hopefully we are now experts on the matter and can start digging on what to wear each time without mistakes.

Coach Opening Party

12:00 AM Prueba 0 Comments

My love affair with Coach started at the very young age of 9 on a trip to Orlando, Florida to celebrate my birthday. I remember walking into the store, feeling so cool by accompanying my mom shopping (every girls dream), when she handed me a bag.
It  was little, pink, boxy and had quilted C's all over it. Love at first sight. I couldn't believe my mom was actually showing me A COACH BAG and asking me if I liked it... The rest is history and I assume you know what happened. Of course, I was the most fashionable nine year old you could see at Disney, and because everything is a matter of individuality,  and I most admit I like and support being different, I personalized it by adding a pretty cute Stitch keychain.
We can say this was my very first chic bag. Years later my brother gave me a satchel and a cell-chain with snowflakes on Christmas and over the years I've acquired many other things like the iconic and versatile scarves. As you can see my affair with the Brand, leader in luxury designs, has become a serious long term relationships that continues to grow.
This is why I was most excited to attend last Wednesday to the re-opening of the first flagship store in Antara Fashion Hall."BUT THERE WAS ALREADY A STORE....!", Yes indeed, it's been there since 2006, but now has transformed and become dual gender embrassing the change, Coach as brand of global lifestyle, is going through. The main facade has adopted a minimalistic style in white keeping the iconic engraving pristine to create a more open and modern atmosphere.
Now the treasures inside are more appealing and beautiful then before. Handbags,  leather goods, footwear, cool clothes and accessories, each with their own section so boys and girls can have a wonderful shopping experience.
My favourites where the bicolor plaid totes in black and white, the leather oversized totes, the snake strap sandals and the printed palazzo pants.
The famous actress Ana Claudia Talancón together with the global president of the brand Giorgio Sarne cut the ribbon so we could enjoy this new experience for ourselves.
It was a great pleasure to get invited to such an event and get to meet the representatives of the brand!
Thank you and.... WELCOME COACH!

PS...
What I wore...
